My name is Jess, I'm from the USA, and I'm a 22 year old art student. just dropped out of an expensive ass art school. now i go to some kind of stepford university where everyone looks and acts and dresses the same. since just about everyone i've met there is intellectually vacant, i gotta look for signs of intelligent life elsewhere.
I like a whole lot of different kinds of music. my favorite bands/singers of the moment: explosions in the sky, sigur ros, broken social scene, this will destroy you, cult of luna, besnard lakes, gunjan, stereolab, nick drake, lights out asia, the american dollar, m83. love foreign films and documentaries.
In addition to being an artist, I play guitar, I like to cook, and i read a lot. i don't pride myself on being uneducated like some people seem to. i'm quite craftsy/artistic.
i speak english, and a little spanish and french. i want to learn norwegian, swedish, icelandic, dutch, german, turkish, arabic, and japanese.
so this is the part where i talk about my personal beliefs... so.. i'm an atheist, i don't like our government/educational system/everything basically, i'm a big tree hugger, can't stand narrow minded/self righteous people who think everyone else is wrong, don't like the war, and am always coming up with half formed philosophical/sociological theories to explain the world and probably boring my friends to death with that. but if you like to talk about that stuff, cool. drop me a line. i have a sarcastic sense of humor. usually i laugh at the wrong things. i probably sound really out there but i'm really a big softy at heart. do i sound interesting? you probably want me to shut up, but write me anyways. i'd like to hear your side of things. if you are nice you can have my email address, if you promise to keep up.
